Easter Fair Fun in the Sun!
Animal charity event raised thousands for homeless animals in need.
Over 300 people enjoyed the sunshine in the garden of The Mayhew Animal Home on April 17th for the charity’s annual Easter Fair. Adults and children alike were able to take part in the fun and games on the day, including mask making, face-painting, fancy dress competition and the much-anticipated Easter egg hunt, opened by The Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Cllr Adronie Alford.
On the day, a phenomenal £5,000 was raised for the homeless cats, dogs and rabbits in the care of The Mayhew in Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green.
Mayhew Events Co-ordinator, Fran Llewellin, said: “This is our spring event we most look forward to and it truly was a fantastic day this year. The weather was spectacular and people arrived in droves to sample our cakes, meet our animals and take part in the games and activities we had arranged. We have over 150 animals in our care and support at events like our Easter Fair means we can carry on helping more homeless cats, dogs and rabbits. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our work.”

`The Mayhew Animal Home was established in 1886 for the benefit of “the lost and starving dogs and cats of London so that they should have sanctuary from the cold inhumanity they are being dealt outside”. Today, The Mayhew is one of the busiest animal sanctuaries in London, rescuing thousands of animals from cruelty and neglect each year.
