The Retired Greyhound Trust
The Retired Greyhound Trust has launched a huge fundraising drive to raise thousands of pounds to help them find loving homes for dogs in its kennels.
The Trust, which finds homes for grey- hounds at the end of their racing careers, aims to raise an extra £10,000 of much- need funds in the next few months – that is the equivalent of 2,500 kennel days.
Ivor Stocker, Director of the Retired Greyhound Trust, said: “Without funds, the charity cannot care for homeless dogs in our kennels. With funds, we can find homes for the dogs and carry out checks to ensure new homes are safe and secure for the dogs. These vital finances also ensure that the greyhounds are fit and healthy before they arrive at their new home – the dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated.” There are lots of ways to a make a

Greyhound Extravaganza Success
Hundreds of greyhounds descended on Newmarket in June for the Retired Greyhound Trust’s Greyhound Extravaganza dog show.
Nine-year-old black greyhound Lottie put them all in their place when she was crowned the show’s Burgess Supadog Supreme Champion at the event, which was held at the Animal Health Trust in Kentford.
Lottie, whose racing name was Blushing Rainbow and raced at the Brighton and Hove track, is pictured with owner Louise Ogle, from Polgate and Richard Rocket from the event’s sponsors Burgess.
Ivor Stocker said: “This is only the second year for the event, but we had a huge turnout. A record numbers of dogs entered dog show and we managed to raise more than £1,000 for the charity. Thank you to everyone who came to support us.”
