EDUC AND ENERGY - NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FROM ROYAL CANIN
Royal Canin is best-known for its’ tailor-made nutritionally precise complete foods for dogs of all sizes, breeds, lifestyles and ages. Now the firm is adding two new nutritional support products, available from May 2011.
EDUC is a healthy, low calorie and very palatable nutritional support for reward-based training. Most dogs respond well to this - but it can be difficult to find a reward which is tasty enough, nutritionally balanced, and convenient to use. Cheese, ham or sausage are all popular, but in fact you could replace 20g of cheese with 33 EDUC units, or 20g of ham with 54 EDUC units - and keep your hands and pockets clean!
With just 3 calories per unit, EDUC also contains reinforced levels of vitamins E and C, nutrients which help support cellular function. EDUC is suitable for puppies over the age of two months and adult dogs.
ENERGY is a complementary nutritional supplement for adult dogs, designed for use an hour before and/or during moderate or intense physical activity. ENERGY contains a high level of short chain fatty acids, which help ensure that high levels of energy are quickly available to the dog, thus helping sustain performance and endurance. Because exercise stimulates the release of free radicals, which cause oxidative stress in the cells, ENERGY also includes high levels of antioxidants to help neutralise their effect.
Moderate activity can be defined as a 1-2 hour walk off lead, or up to an hour’s run alongside the owner, while intense activity is a one hour plus run, or over 30 minutes running alongside a bicycle. One 50g bag of ENERGY is recommended to support moderate activity, and two to three bags to support intense activity, depending on the dog's size.
EDUC and ENERGY are available from May 2011 from good pet shops thoughout the UK, priced at around 79p per 50g bag. To find out more, visit www.royalcanin.co.uk
