Petsavers photography competition

Petsavers is the British Small Animal Veterinary Association’s charity and was founded in 1974 by a group of vets who realised that there was a need for a charity that funded studies into the many unsolved medical and surgical problems of our pets.

As a nation of pet lovers, we want our animals to be treated to the highest standards and receive expert help and advice from our vet when they fall ill or are injured. However, there are some conditions that even the best vets are currently unable to fully understand or cure.

Petsavers aims to change this by funding both studies into the illnesses affecting our pets and training programmes designed to advance the skills of vets. Petsavers has already helped vets to gain a better understanding of many common diseases
such as diabetes, kidney failure, cancer, heart disease, arthritis and skin complaints. Any investigation funded by Petsavers into a pet disease is undertaken to the highest ethical standards and none of the work involves any form of animal experimentation. Petsavers’ ultimate aim is to improve the health of our pets by relieving the distress and pain caused by diseases for which we need to find more effective treatment.

Since being founded, Petsavers has donated over £1.7 million towards studies and training programmes designed to improve the lives of our pets. Petsavers has only been able to carry out this important work because of the generosity of our supporters.A gift in a will is a great way to leave us a legacy and our website has information on how you can do this.

If you would like to make a donation or just to find out more about Petsavers projects and activities please visit our website; www.petsavers.org.uk where you can also find out about our current photography competition and purchase Petsavers Christmas cards, which are a great way to spread the seasons greetings and help a worthy cause as all the profits from the cards go towards Petsavers projects and training programmes.
