Give Animals a Taste of the Top Life! You can give Animals Milk!

Liz & Roger Sutton founded Delamere Dairy 26 years ago with the purchase of three goats on a farm in Delamere Forest in Cheshire. Today the company sells goats’ milk products and other specialist dairy products to retailers across the UK and beyond.

In the early days, a number of Liz and Roger’s customers were puppy breeders who would come to the farm to buy goats’ milk for their litters of pups. The business grew and was mainly focussed on selling goats’ milk, goats’ butter, goats’ cheese and goats’ yogurt for human consumption to supermarkets throughout the UK.

TOPLIFE IS BORN

In 2004, TopLife Formula was born with the introduction of TopLife Dog Milk - goats’ milk with added glucosamine and chondroitin for healthy joints and cartiledge. Breeders understood all about the health benefits of goats’ milk for dogs and the added nutrients made it even more appealing. It went on sale in Asda, Tesco and Morrisons making it available to everyone who wanted it.

Off the success of the Dog Milk, TopLife Formula Puppy and Kitten Milks were introduced in 2006 - goats’ milk with added vitamins C & E to support the immune system – vital during the early days when animals are susceptible to infections and during their vaccination period.

YOU CAN GIVE ANIMALS MILK!

Many people believe you cannot give milk to dogs and cats. Whilst this is true of ordinary cows’ milk, top breeders have reared dogs on goats’ milk for decades. They recognise that goats’ milk is highly digestible and nutritious and have reaped benefits in feeding it to their litters.

Dogs thrive on goats’ milk because it’s so digestible. The fat and protein molecules are much smaller and have thinner membranes than cows’ milk so pass through the body more easily. Easier digestion of the fat and protein means the lactose (milk sugar) can pass through the system more rapidly, preventing a build up which can cause adverse reactions with cows’ milk. Many humans who have an intolerance to cows’ milk, thrive on goats' milk for the same reason.

TopLife Formula Cat Milk is a lactose reduced cows’ milk with added taurine for healthy eyes. Cats love cows’ milk but like dogs, find it difficult to digest the lactose. The lactose reduced cows’ milk in TopLife Cat Milk makes it easy to digest while maintaining all the natural goodness and taste of cows’ milk.

It comes in a handy 370g re-closable and recyclable pack and one pack provides a whole day’s portion of food in one carton, so you don’t need to buy numerous pouches or tins - saving money and unnecessary waste.

The latest product to join the range is TopLife Formula goats’ milk powder for puppies and kittens.
